Bengali Five Spice Tempering Mix

Known as "Panch Phoron" (literally 5 spice seasoning), the Bengali 5 Spice Seed Mix is a mix of whole spices used for infusing the oil at the start of the cooking process. This is one of the very typical Indian cooking techniques, is used whenever a lighter aromatic flavor is desired as compared to the use of powdered spices. Primarily used in cooking greens, vegetables and lentils.
